The company is in the process of establishing a modern show ground where agricultural shows and other farmer exhibitions will be held. The show ground facilities will as well be used for other commercial and industrial activities which will greatly boost agribusiness in the region through trade and commerce hence boosting the economy. The show ground will be the first of its kind in the cattle corridor.
The company intends to grow and upgrade its vet drug shop business to an Animal pharmacy in Nakasongola district where we intend to carry out production of good quality animal drugs, accaricides, vaccines, etc. so as to do away with the ineffective vet drugs on the market and their associated problems. We shall also have animal laboratory services to assist in diagnostics of animal disease strains which will help in providing evidence-based animal care using the most appropriate and proper treatment/ aversion of disease outbreaks through their early detection and prevention.
NALICO engages in mobilization of farmers to have them visit various prominent farmers for
exposure to new developments in animal and crop production. This leads to knowledge and idea
sharing for farming modernization and improvement. New and relevant practices are emulated and
put in practice as a result.
We intend to have in place an animal feeds production plant. This will work towards availing feeds
for animals to supplement the already existing pasture on which most animals are fed using the
free range kind of grazing. The feeds will help fatten the animals and make them ready for sale
early enough when their beef is of better quality unlike the over-aged cattle.
NALICO intends to acquire modern agricultural/ farm tools. These farm tools and Implements will
be useful for the purpose of large scale land clearing, planting and harvest of animal feeds as well
as human food. They greatly speed and ease farm work hence increasing output
A.I. services with high yielding breed varieties is top on the agenda of NALICO’S activities.
Nakasongola district being in the cattle corridor of Uganda has a huge population of livestock and
this is expected to remain as that. Using effective veterinary drugs coupled with other good farm
practices as well as having good quality livestock can ensure high yields and more returns made
possible. Our target beneficiaries are the various farmers in Nakasongola District (both livestock
and crop farmers), operating on large and relatively small scale as well as all individuals along the
value chain.
NALICO provides, promotes, advances, and secures opportunities for livestock farmers through a
platform to share their farming experiences, successes, challenges, possible solutions and access
to knowledge and economic benefit with concern for the environment. These are major drivers of
